Let me guess… You launched your agency on HighLevel, were feeling pretty good, and then—boom. Domain issues. SSL won’t verify. Stripe throws a fit.
And now you’re thinking:
“Why does something as simple as a DNS record feel like disarming a bomb?”
I’ve been there. And so have hundreds of HL Pro Tools users. That’s exactly why we hosted a live Zoom session with Mario Aldayuz (our go-to genius for all things SaaS + setup). In this part of the training, we zeroed in on a super unsexy but absolutely essential topic:
Troubleshooting DNS and SaaS headaches before they become client-killing disasters.
Here’s the good stuff 👇
DNS Doesn’t Have to Be a Mystery
Let’s talk about the elephant in the room:
DNS issues will wreck your agency’s credibility faster than you can say ‘site not secure.’
Mario helped one attendee (shoutout Julia 👋) troubleshoot a failed SSL setup. Her domain verification wasn’t working, which meant her white-labeled app looked… sketchy.
Here’s what Mario suggested:
- Use Cloudflare. Seriously. It’s fast, reliable, and way easier to manage than most domain hosts.
- Check your records using What’s My DNS to make sure propagation is happening in real time.
- Don’t use root domains for app access—stick to clean subdomains like app.youragency.com.
DNS Tip: Set your SSL to “Full” in Cloudflare to avoid handshake errors. Mario covered this live, and I saw at least three lightbulb emojis pop up in the Zoom chat.
Stripe + SaaS Config = Handle With Care
Stripe is amazing… until it isn’t.
A lot of new SaaSpreneurs hit this wall:
They’re so pumped to launch a recurring revenue machine, they rush through SaaS Config mode and mess up Stripe.
DON’T DO THAT. Here’s how to do it right 👇
🛠️ Stripe Setup Checklist:
✅ Import your Stripe products first
✅ Use Stripe’s test mode to create mock clients and walk through the flow
✅ Don’t activate SaaS mode until your Stripe + product mapping is tested and tight
✅ Double-check that your ownership account matches with HighLevel’s requirements
Mario broke it down like this:
“If you skip the test phase and go live too soon, you risk breaking your entire billing structure. Trust me, fixing it after the fact is a nightmare.”
And he’s right. Getting this right = fewer support tickets and more happy clients on autopay. ✅
Bonus Tip: Pricing Funnels Need Testing Too
This is one that even experienced agency owners overlook…
You need to run your SaaS signup like a customer.
Go through the funnel yourself. Check every link, price, tag, email, upsell, and trigger. If you can’t sign up smoothly, your client definitely won’t.
Make sure:
- Your pricing page actually delivers what it promises
- Workflows fire on signup (and not a week later)
- Everything is white-labeled from the first email to the dashboard
