You know what I love? Making things SUPER easy.
Think about it—when was the last time you actually typed out a phone number or email instead of just clicking a button or scanning a QR code? Exactly.
Now imagine you’re at a networking event, bouncing between conversations, shaking hands, and making connections.
Someone at your booth is fired up about what you offer and wants to contact you right now—but you’re busy.
No problem. They scan a QR code, and BOOM—their phone auto-drafts an SMS, call, or email straight to you. No friction, no delays, no lost opportunities.
And thanks to HighLevel, setting this up is dead simple.
Today, I’m breaking down how to generate custom QR codes that instantly trigger an SMS, call, or email. Plus, there’s an interactive tutorial if you want to follow along.
Step 1: Go to the QR Codes menu
On the left panel, go to Sites, then QR Codes
Then, click “Create QR Code”
Step 2: Choose the Type of QR Code
Decide what action you want the QR code to trigger:
✅ SMS – Opens a pre-filled text message
✅ Call – Instantly dials your number
✅ Email – Opens an email draft with your pre-set subject and body
✅ Website – Redirects to a landing page, form, or booking link
✅ Review Link – Lets users drop a review on Facebook or Google
Today we’ll focus on SMS, Call, and Email, but the process for Website and Review Link is similar!
Step 3: Select the QR Type
Depending on the QR type you’ll need to plug in the different details:
- Phone number for calls & SMS
- Email address for emails
You can set up a draft for the SMS, so when someone scans the QR Code they only need to send!
For your emails, you can create an email draft for your users.
⚠️ Double-check this! Once the QR is generated, you can’t edit it—so get it right the first time.
Step 3: Customize Your QR Code
Once you get your details ready the fun begins!
HighLevel offers several options to make your QR look amazing!
🎨 Colors: Match your brand
🔲 Shapes & Corners: Adjust the QR pattern
📍 Logos: Add your company logo in the center
🖼️ Backgrounds: Use a solid color or branded image
Once it looks the way you want, click save.
Step 4: Preview & Download
You’ll be back in the QR Code page. Click on the three dots, download your QR code in the right format:
📁 PNG – Best for websites and digital use
🖨️ SVG – Best for high-quality printing (scales without losing quality)
📜 PDF – Best for official documents
